First Love

After spending an afternoon with my friend Lindsey and her kids Carter and I had the following conversation:
Carter: Mom, were they our cousins or our friends?
Mom:  Our friends.  Why do you ask?  Do you want to marry Avrie?
Carter:  Pretty much.
Looks like me and Lindsey's plan is working...
I never remember to take pictures when we're together so I had to steal a picture of Avrie from Linz's blog.  Isn't she cute?

Ouch!

Cameron and Meleah have always been very energetic/clumsy/rough-and-tumble... Therefore, they tend to get A LOT of owies.
For some reason I couldn't get a picture that shows it very well, but there's a huge bruise over Meleahs' eye in this one.
Cameron got a massive cut on his head that bled like CRAZY after he fell off the back of a couch and hit his head on a fireplace.  (Why can't my kids just sit normally on furniture?) It stopped bleeding relatively quickly and didn't appear to be gaping at all, so we didn't take him to the ER.

I really shouldn't complain because some Moms have to deal with broken bones and stitches.  Let's hope my luck continues and I don't get anything more than scrapes and bruises!

Cam

My little Cameron has a very cute voice even though he usually sounds like he has a cold. (He frequently begins his words with the letters D and N.)  Here are some of my favorite things he's been saying lately -

"Mom, nana mile!" = Mom, Savanna smiled!

"What da het?" = What the heck?

"Is dis mine?", "Is dat yours?" - pretty obvious.  He's very concerned about who owns what. He's even gone so far as to ask "Is dat your bum Mom?"

"I do it!" - also very clear and said quite frequently.  Usually followed by massive tantrum if I don't have the patience the time to let him do it.

"yep"

"Cam-ran go", "Cam-ran eat it", etc.  Sometimes I think he's confused about who Cameron is - whether it's him or Meleah. They are together a lot, I suppose... or he just likes to speak in the third person.  I do it all the time -  "Mommy's GETTING you a drink!, Will you get Mommy a diaper?, Mommy's taking a nap (yeah right), etc."

He begins or ends every sentence with "Mom" - or both.  For example: "Mom!  I did it Mom!"

It's so heeby - "It's so heavy."

"I need a grink.  I tirsty." = I need a drink, I'm thirsty.

"I uh brefast, Mom." = I want breakfast, Mom.

"Baby seeeeepin." = The baby is sleeping.

"I uh mwah" = I want a goodnight kiss.

"ya you Mom" = I love you, Mom (My all-time favorite)

Our little Cammer-man (not to be confused with camera man) loves to play "ouside" and play with whatever toys he finds entertaining at the time.  He likes everything from Toy Story toys to baby dolls. He REALLY loves toys that other people are already playing with.  Especially if he saw/touched that particular toy within the past 48 hours because we all know that means it's HIS toy.  ;)  Cameron also loves to sing songs and sneak food out of the kitchen so that he can eat and watch "umi-umi" (Team Umizoomi)  at the same time. We Stewarts are multi-taskers.  I like to watch TV, nurse Savanna, and play on the computer all at the same time, so it's understandable that Cameron finds sitting at the table to eat a little boring.  Cam is still my little rough-and-tumble boy that loves to wrestle with anyone that unthinkingly sits on the floor.  He has the cutest little walk/run I've ever seen and he makes me smile every single day.  I love you Cam-Cam!

Savanna Rae

We've been having so much fun with our sweet Savanna.  She is getting so big and I just wish I could push pause on life for a little while. Savanna has always been very alert for such a little baby.  I love when she focuses those bright blue eyes on me and gives me big smiles and coos. She is also the wiggliest baby I've ever had.  The only time she relaxes in my lap is when she's asleep.
She loves to sit with her arms tight to her chest and her hands balled up into fists -
She's a great sleeper -

She loves to take baths -
and it's so easy to get a smile from her-

I've had people ask what her hair looks like before I do it.  I don't have a picture of the right-out-of-the-bath-fluffiness, but this is pretty close -
Every time I put Savanna on the floor, she instantly does this -
All that wiggling must have created some strong muscles, because she's been rolling from her back to her tummy for a few weeks now.

We love our beautiful Savanna baby and are so happy that she's a part of our family.

AGAIN?!

Do any of you feel like you have to teach your kids THE SAME THINGS over, and over, and over, and over, and OVER again?  Like "we only draw on paper" for example...
Oh well.  At least there will be no confusion about where Carter sits in the car now.  That was SUCH a problem before.
 He's lucky he's so handsome!

Meleah the Model

I have SO many things to blog about, but I haven't done it because-
1. Randall got a new job (Yay!) so I've had tons of doctor and dentist appointments to set up/go to before our insurance changes.
2. I had my gallbladder removed - which is much less exciting than having a baby removed...just so ya know.
3.  We've been busy with all kinds of fun family activities like Seven Peaks, movies, Birthday Parties, backyard campouts, and Lagoon.
And the most annoying reason -
4.  Cameron broke the space bar on my laptop, which makes typing ANYTHING pretty frustrating.

Well, my replacement spacebar won't be here for another week, and this whole "recovering from surgery" thing is boring me out of my mind, so I'm going to blog.  The first post on the list:

ELLY JELLY IS 4!
My little Meleah turned 4 in May.  As usual my life was crazy at that time with it being the end of the school year and all, but we managed to throw together a couple of family parties and a quick trip to Chuckie Cheese with some friends.  We combined Dalton and Meleah's parties again so Laura and I put our heads together to come up with a gender neutral treasure map cake complete with Lego pirates AND mermaids.  We had tons of fun at all of the parties and Meleah scored some Moon Dough, a baby highchair, a dress, My Little Ponies, dress-ups, hair bows, a stuffed kitty...
Meleah loves to express herself through her wardrobe, and since it's summer I've been letting her choose her own ensemble most of the time.  These are some of my favorites -
Love the model pose on this one -
No one can tell this girl she doesn't match -
What's more adorable than the sideways head tilt?
As you can see she likes A LOT of layers, skirts or dresses with leggings, and socks pulled all the way up.  She loves jewelry, "hair pretties," lip gloss, anything with "sparkles," playing house, and taking care of her baby sister. She's also shown some creativity in home decor. It's amazing what a princess sticker will do to jazz up some boring old sconces.
Peeling paint is much more fun than napping. (Use primer people!)
So much for my  "kid-friendly" design ideas.  I avoided lamps and knick-knacks within the kid's reach so that I wouldn't have to worry about them destroying anything.  Ha!  Lydia's side still looks perfect, btw.

Funny Phrases:
"When I grow up I'm ALWAYS going to wear high. heels."

"My boogers keep falling out of my nose!"

"Did you find the freakin' wet wipes?"
Favorites:
Color - pink and purple
Food - a plum and oranges and apples and tomatoes
Toy - barbies, baby dolls, and Littlest Petshops
Movie - Tangled
TV Show - Dora when she's a ballerina
Book - Enchanted book
Song - Every single song
Thing to do - eating...actually playing with friends

We love our Meleah Susannie SO much! She is so much fun, and the BIGGEST helper.  Happy Birthday sweet girl!
