Ode to the Palmers

We had a seriously hard time saying goodbye to our BFFs, the Palmers, in June.  Lincoln was a friend of Randall's on his mission, and we have all been friends for over 13 years now.  We've had a combined total of 10 kids, TONS of fun, our fair share of stress, TONS of laughter, and several moves during those 13 years.  And now the Palmers are moving again, but this time to Henderson, NV.

I call these two our twinners, because they look so much alike to me -

It seriously makes my heart hurt to think of them being so far away.  When we were first married, we used to hang out a couple of times a week.  Lately our lives have gotten so busy with older kids that have their own schedules, and hard working husbands that never seem to be home...  But we still managed to find time to see each other at least a few times a year.  Now it will be even more difficult to see each other.  But I know it will be more fun when we do, because it will be during vacation time when we can relax and not have to worry about work and school.
Remember when they were so little, and we couldn't get them to stand still for pictures?

We love the Palmers SO much, and already miss them like crazy!  But I know they will make lots of new friends (because they're AWESOME!).  And if they HAD to move far away, I'm glad it was to my old stomping grounds in H-town!

Sorry to be so confusing, but this is a current post.  As in 2015.  I will continue to catch up on 2014 soon!

Summer 2014, May - June Edition

We were a little preoccupied with moving last summer, but we still managed to squeeze in a little bit of fun...

We lived at Bob and Jill's for a few months and my kids spent HOURS eating popsicles and playing in the backyard with their new friends.
Everyone loved to play on Grandma's rocking horse -
I told you EVERYONE...

We spent LOTS of time at the park -

Had 2 fun days at Lagoon -
Jillian and Jana were SO AWESOME to ride with all my kids, so I didn't have to get all pukey like last year... (Yes, I am officially too old for amusement park rides.)

Poor Meleah got a bloody nose...

We took Carter and Lydia to see Music and the Spoken Word at Temple Square -
The city did a fireworks show, and the kids were SO EXCITED to sit in the back of Dad's truck, eat candy, and watch them -
We ALWAYS have fun at the Jensen Family Reunion -

And we had an "It's finally summer!" water party at Laura and Kenny's -
It's so crazy seeing my kids play on a swingset that I used when I was their age.  I love how you can see that Grandpa just figured out a way to fix anything that got broken...

Some of them were a little cold after they got wet -

I. LOVE. SUMMER!
